Mid- or senior-level radar systems engineer responsible for providing radar domain expertise in a SETA role to a program currently in the concept design/early acquisition phase. Candidate must have solid understanding of radar hardware and system implementations in L through Ku bands, and must have expertise in radar signal processing techniques to include range-Doppler imaging, extraction of signals from very low SNR data, coherent and extended time interval integration, matched filtering, etc.
Candidate must be able to work with multiple development contractors and ASI subcontractors to ensure that a technically sound system concept that meets performance and operational requirements is developed and matured fromconcept design through development, test, deployment and operation and maintenance. The system is anticipated to be aspiral development, requiring that the design include a well thought out upgrade/enhancement approach from initial requirements definition. Candidate must have both radar domain expertise and systems engineering experience sufficient to support the definition of radar system and signal processing requirement, perform/define trade studies, develop risk assessments andrecommend mitigation activities, assess hardware performance, analyze link budgets, review test plans and procedure,witness testing. Familiarity with US military and homeland defense radar system capabilities a plus. |
Candidate should have 8+ years experience in radar engineering, with at least 5 years experience in radar development or radar signal processing, and some systems engineering experience. MS in EE/Physics/related field required. Candidate must have a current SSBI and active SCI clearances, and be willing to complete a full scope polygraph. Good communications skills, specifically the ability to convey how technical detail impacts program direction and requirements satisfaction is also required. Infrequent travel is required; work will be performed in the Chantilly/Reston area. |
